Supposed mica not acting like it should?

Ok ok, so yeah I spent way too much time mining mica ,very very gold mica. But from what I can tell it doesn't act like it's supposed to act in the pan. I know the gold coloration is from Iron of some sort. And the gold color comes off and leaves the Micah transparent when put in Muriatic. I'm just wondering if gold forms on mica? Because all these flakes will settle under black sand in the pan. Before I trash all my hard work, should I crush and pan it? It doesn't swirl around like mica should. Could it possibly be flour gold in the mica? What should mica do in Muriatic? It has a higher melting point than gold so I don't think the crucible I purchased Will help. Any suggestions?

Ever hopeful,

Put it in a flat pan with sides, and use a hard object to slowly crush it. Mica will crush and wash away, gold will not. If flour gold, then you can pan it out.
