Because I looked and couldn't find the copper edge. So my question is. Is it worth more than 50c?

Yep, I posted about a '71 a while back. The edge looks just like yours. I performed the simple tissue test. Non-silver half side by side next to 40% suspect coin, covered by 1 ply tissue. If it's silver it will be a lot lighter in color than the non-silver. Plating normally does not make a coin more valuable.

I think it is played like everyone said. I want to hear the difference, but only sometimes I do. I must be imagining things.

I compared it to a clad and a 90%er because unfortunately I have no 40%er to compare it to.

Its clad, copper. It looks like the nickel layer overlapped on the edge. I have seen clad do this.
