Normally, most of what I find are asymmetrical, so this one was a welcome change. Only about half of one notch was showing when I found it. I didn't even know which direction it was pointing in. An insitu pic would've been nice, but in '88, I didn't have a camera. We're blessed to have such technology at our fingertips nowadays.

Here's a few random pictures of some with nice symmetry. Some are personal finds and some are from the States Collection. Pictures 1, 3, and 7 are from the States Collection. The rest are personal finds.

These are a pretty good example of symmetry I think. The one on the left is a nice button base Dovetail. I found it in Pickaway Co. Ohio in the 70's. It is Flintridge or something similar. The middle one I bought off a farmer in Rush Co. Ind. I think it is 100% perfect. The right one I bought off Martin Bauer in Scioto Co. Ohio. He had a ton of artifacts from his farm and began selling a few in his later years.

13.5 lb 3/4 groove maul. Talked a farmer out of it, he was using it for a door stop in his garage. You can see the wear at the groove rim from rolling on the floor
