Take a guess...let's try this again

Can anyone take a guess at what this holed copper coin might be?

The coin is 31mm in diameter and is thinner, perhaps due to its age, than a KG III half penny and a US large cent.

It is misshapen but does not appear to have been hit by plows, etc.

I apologize for the shadows in the photos.

It could be a blank Key Tag that had not been stamped with numbers/letters.
