Got 200$ in nickels today and was a complete skunk :( coincidentally, i saw a skunk early morning on the way to school?

bunch of 40's and 50's also 1 1939 p and 3 foreign (2 CAD nickels and 1 Panama nickel)

So i carried 44 pounds and searched for 1 1/2 hours just to find nada.... Have y'all been skunked too lately?

Boy do i hate those 46's, 47's and 41's - they look like the silver but ain't one bit of silver.

Never the less, Keep on Hunting :)

Yes I enjoy nickels cuz I generally get 1 or 2 Wars per box. Although they aren't worth a lick. I've always been interested in WWII so that's what draws me to them. I hear you on the 40, 41, especially 42' no mark or small D.. then of course the 46, 47, 48, etc... They all get me now and then. :-\

At a current melt value of $1.78, the last thing I would say is "not worth a lick".

Yes there is some value to them but for me its the historical more then the dollar value. You can get $1 outta each one if your lucky. As far as dollar value I'd buy halves or dimes over Nickles. I've found 215 silver dimes plus 18 Canadian 80%ers since last August. I have found 200 40%ers and 12 90%er halves since August. Add 60 Washington quarters. I've only found 54 war nickels in that same amount of time. The coins searched per valuable coin is much higher with nickels.. So ain't worth a lick is compared to the other searchable coinage out there.. ;-)

Better than my nickel box today. Came out with not a single pre 60, or 2009. Guess i gotta drop it off and grab another from a different bank. :)

Dollar for dollar a dollar of nickels holds more silver then a dollar of dimes or quarters.
