Tamaqua seeks re-enactors to help with encampment, festival for 175th

TAMAQUA — When the borough was incorporated in 1832, there were 30 dwellings, two hotels and three stores.

About 100 years later, the population had grown to around 13,000 residents.

Today — 175 years later — there are about 7,000 people who call Tamaqua home.

The Tamaqua Historical Society invites residents to celebrate the borough’s milestone anniversary on Oct. 13 and 14 in conjunction with the 23rd annual Tamaqua Heritage Festival.

Although the festival is two months away, volunteers are needed now to help with the planning, implementation and participation in various events.

I'm an 80 mile round trip away, But IF I were near,
I'd talk to the Historical Society.
get permission to Search their historical sites,
to put together a Display for the Celebration.

This may open alot of doors.
