By the time you add up all the taxes, shouldn't it be closer to 85% when you consider all the taxes already paid to the gooberment BEFORE you buy it from the store?

Lesee: Taxes farmer pays for permits etc. to produce it, taxes on his equipment used to produce it, taxes on the farmer's income, taxes on the income of the driver who takes it to the plant where it is turned from milk into ice cream, taxes on the fuel he uses to take the milk to the plant, taxes on the plant's equipment, property taxes on the plant, taxes on the wages of all of their employees involved in the production of the ice cream, taxes on the income of the trucker who moves the ice cream from the plant to market, fuel taxes to transport it from the plant to the market, taxes paid on the hourly wages of the stock boy who unloads the truck, taxes paid on the hourly wages of the nice lady with the nose ring who checks your purchase, property taxes on the land where the store is located, taxes on fixtures, taxes you paid on the fuel to make the trip and don't forget, taxes paid by your employer and by you on the income you earned before you received your paycheck.

In fact, 85% might be cutting the kid a break.

Why? Because I'm pretty sure I failed to mention import taxes on the sugar used, import taxes on the vanilla or other flavorings used ...

When you consider how the taxes paid are worked into the price so that you are paying taxes on taxes on taxes ... no wonder the farmer feels like he's getting the short end of the stick.

HE IS!!!
