Tell me about the original Gold Bugs (Gold Bug 1 not 2). Are there many people still using these? Are they still a viable detector? Are there many of them available on the second-hand market?
For price range it's a very good gold machine, it's very robust and stable, light weight, Vco, great ground balance tuner. Yeah no iron disc or id though for small surface iron trash, but a magnet works and iron will mask goodies. I found .01 gram and up to 1 gram sized pieces with my old Gb1's over the years. In the Gold Bug 2 owners manual it mentions that the Gold Bug 2 wasn't designed to completely replace the original Gold Bug. HH
