Finding so much more with my Sand Shark! I can't imagine how much I missed before I had one.
VCO mode is my best friend. I am so glad I gave Tesoro a chance as my finds have tripled since I made the switch. This has been a great start to a new year and my shark is on top of it! VCO draws you right to the targets even at a unbelievable distance away. I hope my progress continues and I stay on the path of recovering objects daily. PI's are tuff when digging all objects but I'm really getting used to the tones now and am getting a feel for what sounds are what before I dig.
Here are a few new finds that my shark has been bringing in!

Any more raving and I would think you were on Tesoro's payroll. Nice finds, looking at getting one myself!

LOL! No not on their payroll just overly excited about the difference from my other machines. Just gave it a try after hunting along side my buddies. VCO mode rocks, I strongly recommend useing it when you get yours. Good luck hunting!

Congrats on your finds and you and your machine becoming one. I was looking for the dorsal fin as I also thought you may be a member of the shark family. Best of luck for the remainder of the year.

Wow some nice finds - what have you found to be a good pulse width setting?

Pulse with on the center of S. ,volume. Maxed out, VCO mode only( for me) , threshold on R. Go low and slow as possible and listen for quiet tones as well. Swing wide but slow. If you'are near something you'll know it! Hunt chest deep water to avoid trash and get the goodies. I always look for low rocky areas with coral ect. Under water. This machine can't be beat.

Wooo-Hooo! Happy Dancing for you in New York! I know you LOVE VCO, but you'll get even better depth in Normal mode. Give Normal about 50-hours of headphone time, and make sure the signal tone is set for YOUR ears (Page 12 of the manual).

I'm on the Sand Shark bandwagon. When I was recently in Vilano Beach it was pretty much sanded in. I turned the pulse width almost to max and I start to find things at 18 inches plus. If I have a lot of good targets I hunt with the pulse width about where you have it. If I am running zeros I crank it up and dig deeper. Just my experience for fellow sand shark hunters. And no...I am not on the payroll.

See, that's what I've been wondering - does cranking up pulse width affect depth adversely? If it makes for a wider swing and deeper it seems like it should always be cranked up.

In my humble opinion. It increases depth but it also gives higher chances of picking up that tiny piece of iron. On a good target beach you will waste time digging every piece of scarp iron. Also, cranking pulse width up to max burns your batteries much faster.

Boss diver.
I'm sure you'll be more then pleased with your SS. It will so be worth the wait! Low and slow. Get that thing wet where it will thrive.
Good luck!
