any info would be greatly appreciated

thanks,

Tiger Shark is not going to do near as well on a saltwater beach, the salt minerals in the water and wet sand will drive it nuts, it will be very unstable as it thinks it sees targets everywhere, is a single freq detector, multi freq detectors or pulse detectors are a much better choice.. If it was only a one time trip to a saltwater beach you could use the Tiger by turning the sensitivity way down to stablize the detector, but when you do that you are giving up a LOT of depth.....I personally would not buy a Tiger to use as a salt water beach detector.....

Tiger Shark is more of a freshwater beach detector even though it has a salt water setting, the Sand Shark is better for salt water, it is a pulse detector.

Re: Tesoro Tiger Shark compared to Fisher CZ's for saltwater beach hunting

thank you "Treasure_Hunter" for your quick reply & info....I really appreciate it. I have had pulse induction machines back in the mid 90's, and I really prefer the silent VLF type of machines, too many bobby pins in South Jersey sand for me....I have had a Fisher CZ-20 since 1998, and now a new CZ-21. My wife uses a Fisher 1280x, but it too gets salt interference being that it is a single frequency machine. I am in the process of getting her a CZ-3D which works off the same multi-frequencies that my 21 uses.

I used a TS at a salt water beach for five hours last year to see if I wanted to buy it..Not a good choice at all.The salt mode helped but still very erratic compaired the CZs. I had a 1280x and it acted similar to it on the beach and in the wet sand . They say they are killer in lakes and rivers though.
