i think our limey friend is of the mindset of most of the new breed of idiots in the world today......they worship evil and shun Christianity...150 years ago we fought evil with the apache and tried everything in our power to abolish it...75 years ago evil reared its ugly head in germany and the world banded together and put a stop to hitler's evil...i dont see too much difference between the apaches and hitler...they both stole..tortured..murdered...raped..kidnapped...we hunted the apache down and stopped them...the entire world hunted the nazi's after the war and brought them to trial and hung them...some never made it to trial....to this day anything to do with the nazi regime is banned...but they worship the apaches for doing the same thing the nazi's did....it's a funny world we live in joe

Wayheeeey...!

You're right; I do not believe in a lady who had a baby from 'god'. Don't believe we're all sinners and that burning bushes talk etc.,

You "fought the evil Apache and abolished 'it'?

Cmon billy from the hilly, even to your moonshine addled mind, you have to acknowledge that the Apache were human and not an 'it'. Also to make you aware 'you' actually needed the 'evil' Apache to fight other Apache to claim your successes. But, hey, do not let truth get in the way of your beliefs, but then again, you described books as "a waste". Makes sense.

Don't pretend the US gave a toss about Hitler and Germany; America joined the war in 1941 whilst Britain was fighting it since 1939! Your country was busy selling its wares to us making money from the war and only joined in after the Japanese did their thing in the Pacific!

It was actually the Red Army of the Russians that really defeated the Nazis and suffered the biggest losses. But again, you wouldn't know this considering you don't read books...:icon_thumright:

It is a funny world we live in as even ignorant, thick as a brick, backward, jingoistic, uncouth, ridiculous hilly-billys get the opportunity to air their views, however silly and stupid.

It would be wise to remember the old saying:

"Better to have others think your a fool than open your mouth and confirm it...":laughing7:

Ugh, 1/2 injun, quote, unlike some of you Oirish who couldn't find anyone until your 3rd or 4th decade & snagged one 1/4 your age (or less).

A war and exploring took up most of my time for three decades, for some reason the choice available just didn't appeal to me. I couldn't get enthusiastic about a gal in several layers of grass skirts, that had bugs crawling in and out of them, or had filed teeth, red hair -- not natural red, but a sorta bleached red, that used rancid fish oil as an insect reppllent, Then again there were those that just didn't meet my value of hygene.

However in ole China I kinda favored Tony Brovchenco, a so called white Russian, night club singer in Peking, I used to take a jin-rickshaw to the club about closing time, and we would go from there., I sorta wanted to take her home to show momma, but title 8 of the code of Federal Regulations, (Gov't immigration law) made no allowance,or exception, since she came under the Oriental cuota system.laws then

Then there was that very lovely gal on Mactan, Cebu,Philippines, then again we musen"t forget ---------Anyway I am glad that I waited (?) cause I got a winner/keeper.

Incidentally Bert had just turned 17, I almost called it off, but my mother told me that when i am 100, she will be 73, and to quote a certain celebrity "At that time what difference will it make?

You were fortunate to find a winner/keeper so early in your life.

Hmmm.... since I've been on this thread I've learned a lot: I should be happy Whitey spends money in a casino owned & operated by Whitey (tribe gets 1% & some minor jobs, I get nothing) but no one thanks me for spending money @ in your towns @ Walmart, safeway, etc.. I've been accused of being a racist, rapist, terrorist, killer, horse thief, whoremonger & committing a few other atrocities I didn't even know about! I've become ashamed of being a halfbreed... the evil White half that's so hateful!
By the way the "rules & boundaries of the day" included murdering children & imprisoning the faithful Apache Scouts who were enlisted US soldiers even though many weren't even Chiricahuas (White Mountain, Cibique, Lipan, Yavapais) & hadn't fought against the Whites. Then they kept them prisoners for 27 years for committing no crime, this includes children born in captivity. Yep, backstabbing, thieving, double crossing, Whitey has a lot to be proud of! Go pat yourselves on the back tazhik`ane` nohwijii! (chicken heart).

lol...actually i haven't called you any rotten names...i like reading your posts and i'm glad you came on the forum..the things i speak of happened over 100 years ago and have nothing to do with you or i...the perpetrators (both whitey and injun) have been dead and gone for many years...dont forget i'm a breed also..but i have never blamed whitey or injun for my problems or short comings...there's an old hillbilly saying...you carry your own water...also one from the bible...you reap what you sew

IPUK,I have to agree with you, the reds took horrific casualties. There were battles of over a million men on each side.

They bled the Germans dry.

Uh IPUK? The US also saved your bacon during WWI war when both sides were stalled & unable to do anything offensive anymore. If we'd just let you Europeans fight among yourselves WWII wouldn't have happened since everyone involved would have been too weakened to start another. A bonehead by the name of Woodrow Wilson thought we should get involved in a war we could ill afford for some reason of his own, it was known here as 'Wilsons War', many of our soldiers were never paid their entitled bonus. The debt incurred by the war contributed to the Great Depression.... but what does that have to do w/ Apaches in the SW?

A brief detour from the recent posts.

Where did the name "Chiricahua"originate? Opatas!

Here is a section of an article from: William K. Hartmann & Constantino Martínez Fabián (2016) Coronado-era Place-names, II. “Chichilticale” and the Origin of the Name of the “Chiricahua” Mountains, KIVA, 82:1, 71-91,DOI:10.1080/00231940.2016.1152538

"A Coronado-era name, variously spelled as “Chichiltecally,“Chichilticale,”etc., was applied in 1540 to a mountain range, a ruin, and the surrounding area in southeast Arizona. Today it is usually described as a Nahuatl word assigned to a red-colored pueblo ruin on the Coronado route to Cíbola. We note, however that the chronicler Jaramillo, with the lead portion of the Coronado expedition, assigned “Chichiltecally” solely to a mountain range and associated pass. Recent archaeological finds indicate that the ruin was at the west base of the Chiricahua Mountains and south of Apache Pass. We show that the name recorded by Jaramillo was an attempt to render an ”Opata term connoting “Mountain Range of Many Turkeys,” and that this name evolved through various spellings to “Chiricahua,” which essentially means “Turkey Mountain.” Application of a similar Nahuatl term to the ruin may have arisen from a misunderstanding or adaptation of the ”pata term by Nahuatl speakers on the Coronado expedition, or it may have been interpreted as the “correct” native name after the chroniclers returned to the Nahuatl-dominated Mexico City area."

"I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. "The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men."
Quote from Woodrow Wilson, after he created the Federal Reserve.

FDR, another traitor, further spiked the coffin in 1933.

Hola, from my answer to someone in another forum about Amelia Erhart and her disapearance

it was a secret mission to spy on the Japanese build up. Our Intelligence wasn't asleep as many thought, they knew / suspicioned the build up, but needed proof, hence her odd flight path, she wasn't lost, but needed an excuse to overfly the islands, Noonan was a very good navigator, he wasn't lost.. The problem was that the **** didn't buy it.

Pearl harbor was done by a deliberate provoking of the Japanese, they knew the **** had to react, so they provoked an attack, but they miscalculated the size and effectiveness of their response, Roosvelt knew that the Americans needed an excuse to go to war in Europe, the end point, because he knew that Hitler, and the Japanese, were getting too strong That we needed to go "NOW" , and he was correct, It turned the tide of American opinion. The rest is open history, but if Hitler hadn't turned on Russia, history today would be far different. England prob wouldn't have survived without US help The Russians actually took the teeth out of the Wehrmacht, not the US, The US took care of the tech end by destroying the Industrial power of Germany and tried to eliminate the civilian will. Course she also took on a greatly reduced Wermacht, but still a great power in any event.

The old " The end justifies the mean "

Also no sunshine or decent weather in Oirland. We consider cactus to be a great wimp deterrent for those who would infest this wonderful land w/out it. :)

That includes Cholla of course, how does a Apache get rid of the spines, they are of the sheath design, the outer sheath always stays in the wound. I have seen the poor cattle with their noses covered with cholla pods.

The yaqui, for a particular enemy of the tribe , would strip the enemy naked, peel the skin off of his feet, then happily flip Cholla pods unto the victim. After coverng him with Chholla pods the would turn him loose, having first pressed Cholla pods into his hands. yeek the mere thought of that gives me the willlies.

Nother favorite was to kill and skin a cow, place the victim inside of the hide, with his hands and feet bound, sew it up, then place it in the sun

In Oirish land they merely drink you to death with Orish whisky.
