Very interesting rock. A pic of a watering hole on a ridge. If you look close you can see the blue sky reflecting in it. The elevation at this watering hole is 1100 ft. DSC00512.JPGDSC00517.JPG
 

Nice petrified mushroom you found there! LOL That is a classic balanced rock formation, water hole could be a minor sink into a cave system, have you checked for openings down the ridge? ...sometimes they collapse at several points and leave sinks.

Post a picture of that mineral sample you have !

I'll have some more pics in a few days of some other stuff I've found . Amazing what's out there off the beaten path.
 

Than You Curtis !!! There will be some more interesting pics in a few days I hope. Weather is suppose to cool down to where it might frost by week end then a good shower of rain will get rid of most of the leaves. Then things will be easier to see.
