Yes, it was last Friday, the 20th of August.
Weight - 3 pounds, 11 ounces.
I guess the answer to the taste question is personal preference. As the salmon starts to turn color from the bluish-green and silver to their spawn colors, the flesh starts to get softer/mushier. A silver colored one is by far the better tasting on the grill, but this one is destined for the smoker, and IMO you could smoke your tennis shoe and it would taste great.
