Spent the morning sinking up to my waist in wet pay.
Couldn't of been happier.
Some cool pics some showing nice layers of clay vs. gravels.

First one looks like I made the digger mad...

That's some nasty looking clay ya got there Doc :laughing7:

Ya.... I laugh when we get emails from people saying they have a bunch of clay to deal with.
That one layer is about 8 feet thick and SOLID... gray clay. Then you hit the orange and red clay layers.

How much are you getting per yard?
Thanks for sharing - Dale

Have not run any from the new dig as of yet.
Did a few test pans and they look pretty good.

Good luck dealing with that crap. That will be a good test of any equipment.

Nice video Doc. Can the clay be used for a pottery or brick making operation? Perhaps a sideline business to the gold operation?

My son and I were rockhounding out at the mammoth mines in eureka Utah last weekend. They were primarily mining gold, silver, and copper originally. But the new mine on other side of the ridge the are mining clay for cement and cosmetics. The head geologist told me what minerals were in it that were so good for the skin. But can't remember. He dropped way to much information on me at once to remember it all.

If you're making BED PANS... it would be fine.
The clay smells like crap.
:)

It comes down to return on investment and time for them.
It's easier and cheaper to use it as fill where needed.
