In his letter of January 4th, 1822, TJB states, "The papers enclosed herewith will be unintelligible without the key...."

This is curious as the word "key" is used in the singular form, yet the DOI in the pamphlet, which was key to C2 does not work for the remaining ciphers. Surely if there had been more then one key TJB would have used the word, "keys" in the plural sense instead of "key" in the singular sense. I know there are those who believe they have solved the remaining ciphers, but sense these solutions have lead to no discoveries and most of them are spotty and unclear at best, one can only conclude that they are the wrong solutions, as C2 was indeed well written, direct, and easily understood. Given this, what are your thoughts on the remaining ciphers as far as the "key" or "keys" debate? Is there only one, or do you believe there has to be more then one?

This is curious as the word "key" is used in the singular form . The papers and the Key to each !

No the "key" to each one would be "keys" If you have three padlocks then you would have three keys. But Beale said he would send the "key" So in your decipherment did you have one key "DOI" that was used for C2, if not then you would have "keys" and that would be wrong. The "KEY" has got to be the DOI or the whole story is fiction.

Maybe Beale didn't leave the key to the iron box with Morriss, and intended to send it at a latter date.
That would have prevented Morriss from opening the iron box before the ten year term.

Beale told Morriss the box could be opened by breaking the lock.

Look, the only reason a clear text for C2 exist today is because the author gave it to us. Truth be told, had he just given use the C2 cipher and his presented numbered key then we still wouldn't have a clean clear text today because it just wouldn't work due to the counting error, the absence of a word that begins with the letter "X" in his key, and so on and so on. So right from the very start we have been handed a tale that is only possible because the author says it is.
