Happy New Year everyone
Getting to hunt on Jan.1st now that's a great time.
Even though I didn't expect much and was rewarded by a nitro moment, it was still a good feeling to swing the coil for a hour and half or so.
I just did a short walk down to the mill pond again as I thought of doing the bench that ran just up from the creek and trail.
Oh I thought I had something, I was taking the photo as the light in the area is limited with winter and overcast skies, 3pm.
I fooled me, the thoughts of old gold, being where I had dug the silver cuff link, Kettle point, lead seal, buttons, now gold. Funny how fast the mind works.
But the cruel reality of dreams set in on this one.
Now I'm just going to say its just plain wrong to be putting a gold color band on a headstamp!!
The second one was 5ft from the seal recovery earlier this year.
First thought a bale seal, nope a flattened lead that hit the rocks.
Oh well it still is good to get out and have a few blood rushes.
Best to you all, for the 2021 season.

LOL ahh, but that initial adrenaline rush was still experienced, right? Shot gun shells get me every time. Yesterday as it was pouring down rain in the upper 30’s, we were reminiscing about the New Year’s Day a few years ago that was in the 70’s. My friend, BuckIdgr, and I attempted to find the privy using a probe I received for Christmas. That was a nice warm day. I’m glad you got out and are obviously feeling better. Happy New Year to you and your wife! May it be filled with lots of good finds.

I had one of those moments today. Whilst OTWBTTC & crossing the Winter Stubble Field, got a good signal looked down & thought I saw a Gold Coin on the top, I started to believe it might be a Stater, it was the back of a gilt button, see my latest post!

Thank you WD

Well I hope you find the privy hole this spring and are up to your arses in good finds (as in bottles and relics).

All the best to you and Mr WD in 2021 dirt and water fishing.

and that's what keeps the dream alive and makes it fun. thanks for posting.

Thanks ticndig

After 50 yrs of playing the dirt it never gets old-just the body-never the thrill and the dreams.

All the best for to in the 2021 season
A cruel trick indeed... :sadsmiley:

Thanks Wildcat
It's the nitros in life that make it fun-but they sucks also...:laughing7:
Best to your 2021-may the nitro moment be real

I had one of those moments today. Whilst OTWBTTC & crossing the Winter Stubble Field, got a good signal looked down & thought I saw a Gold Coin on the top, I started to believe it might be a Stater, it was the back of a gilt button, see my latest post!

Thanks for sharing that Cru

Oh rightfully so to believe that it could very well be one.

I had one real big one once while digging in t=your country's soil. I pinpointed the target and brushed away the loose-and there it was I grabbed the camera took the shot as I wanted to record the dig-yup another item that should of "NEVER!" been made. :laughing7: I still remember this one-as I was really stocked in believing I'd finally dug something gold-and I really felt kind of silly after finding out the result.

Hope you have a great 2021 season Cru and to Cru'dad may one of those bucket listers come up in the soils.

Oh no. I would’ve loved ya to get early 2021 gold! 郎

Thanks Kiddo
Yes it would be very welcomed sight, then again getting a silver out of the poor dirt farming homesteads is a challenge.
Best to you in the 2021 season

Always fun to dream. Hate it when I get out the camera and start documenting the dig for posterity. Then........bottle cap! :BangHead:

Thanks WIF

It wouldn't be the first time or the last time for it to happen. I usually take a shot of most things that might be something-so many turn out to be a turd-but still it could of been something.

All the best to on the 2021 walks.

Once... only once...

I was out of Rum... and became frantic... began scouring the cabinets for a stashed or forgotten bottle...

THEN... there it was ! ! !

I look in the back of dank dark cabinet and I see the dark silhouette of a rum bottle lurking there... My heart began to pump and the adrenaline was kicking...

I reached in and retrieved...

A bottle of Aunt Ja Mamma corn syrup.

:P

Thanks Dave

I was thinking it would be so cool to put a tick on each calendar month this year. Just to say that a hunt was done in every month.

Best of luck in the 2021 season-hope this year we can meet up for some long over-due hunts together again. (miss the finds arse whomping events).

Best to also Jeff in the 2021 season-hope you get the coil over a prized keeper.

Oh ya the coveted corn syrup bottle....

I'm going to stick with the true and tested light version Capt.

Sorry pepper... :)

I cannot help it... really...

Some might say I am the site "clown"... and some may even be closer and say I am the "jester"...

But then there are those who know me more precisely... as the wizard bearer of the magic to turn that frown... upside down.

:)

Oh I know what you like-just making it light.

Hope you get sometime this season to get out again to enjoy a bit of mental therapy from the end of the coil.

Now why on earth would you think I would ever even think of drinking something like that thick... warm... gooey... sweet and bitter... with a hint of sap... tasting stuff.

Not me... sheesh... Arrrg... never.
