At my credit union they have a coin counter for customers. On it is a sign asking users to remove the junk from their coins before using. I guess they got tired of dealing with used band-aids.

Great haul!

How do you get them to give you the coins in the dirt cup ??? My store doesn't own the machine... some other company comes in and services it, I guess..

Get friendly with store managers, easy to do if you're a vendor like myself.... ask if you can clean out the dirt cup. They have a key, and will, if your lucky, let you keep the goods.
Tnet Monstarules has laid out a very informative thread how to ask, and reap the rewards.

Didn't dig a single hole son.
Internal Coinstar rejects.

Hello BWD. 1000 pardons...I did not see the CoinStar connection in your post and the replies...that's a great way to beat the heat and man it is hot out there...had to use the cool cloth my wife bought me for Christmas during yesterday's hunt. Good Luck. C9

I've only asked once, and they said, "no". Your lucky day, Dave. Nice haul.

Wow man, nice score. That's crazy! I guess you never know what's gonna be in the dirt cup haha...bloody bandaid? Nasty.

I did pizza delivery for a few months when I was just out of high school. One night I delivered some pizza and got a nice tip. A few minutes they called the pizza joint with a huge complaint. I was sent back there to return their money. They had found a small bandaid (with a blood spot) baked into the pizza. The kitchen staff was in big trouble LOL
