Hey all! How's this for a today's find?

2pm - Got a call from a buddy. A friend of a friend of a friend lost his wedding ring on a lacrosse field.

2:35pm - I'm at the lacrosse field with an extra detector for him. We set out.

3:00pm - I get a nice gold ring signal, but 3 inches down. "When'd you lose this ring again?" I ask him. "Yesterday," he replies.

3:01pm - I figure it's a pull tab, but I dig it anyway. Lo and behold:

So I'm like: "Dude, I found a gold ring but I'm pretty sure it's not yours!" He looks at it and laughs.

3:02pm - I put the gold & amethyst ring in my pocket and get back to swinging.

3:02pm (and 20 seconds) - I get another gold ring hit. And there's his wedding band, half on the surface, half squished into the dirt (somebody stepped on it).

So I'm like "Dude (I still don't know the guy's name), come back here. I have something for you..."

I didn't get a photo of the wedding ring but it was a big old solid piece of 14k white gold. He was PSYCHED! (Mostly because his wife was so upset he'd lost it). He was like "I can't believe you just found two gold rings in under a minute!" And I'm like "Yeah, that's a new one!"

He tried giving me some cash but I refused. Finding his ring was reward enough! Finding the other gold ring was just an added karma bonus.

3:45pm - I'm home, and my good deed is done for the day. Time to make coffee.

So yeah, the Gods of Karma work quickly my friends. Sometimes they even work in advance!

BONUS bonus: I found a new park to go detecting at.

Thats a big rock! Nice score!

Now thats crazy. Must be something about that particular spot claiming the rings for itself. Congrats to both of you.

You just put a new twist of โ€œa good deed is itโ€™s own rewardโ€. Way to go. I nominate for honorable mention because you did a good deed even if you did get a reward from the gods of good karma. Stay safe and keep swingin (in that park for sure).

What's the karate on that beauty? Great find and great return!

No idea on karat, but it's marked 14kg

Very Nice!!!! Good Job!!!! Congrats!!!

Your post is in excellent retort to those who say, "Nice guys finish last." Great post. Great find.

Beautiful find! :occasion14:
