Why? They might think everyone is not cookie cutter perfection?
Or that the mind has doors that can be opened or closed , though not always at will?

I've encountered multiple people while detecting that were not hidden away because they differed.
Should I have called the police? Or told them they needed professional help?
They were "home" in a village where the cops and citizens knew and accepted them for who they were.
Diagnosis changed little but understanding what was already obvious was "real".

They were allowed a voice as much as any citizen.
Even among visitors ....
Because the world is as diverse as the mind. Even if some people don't agree with anything but duplicity of their own minds.

I never hid a child from such.
Inevitably they will encounter others that differ anyways. Such is life outside a bubble. Because everyone "different" can not be kept in bubbles. Or we'd all be in bubbles.
