The lady said "sure go ahead"

There's an old house I've had my eye on for years. It just screams "somebody detect me!". So today on my way to the football field I stopped
there and knocked on the door.
A lady answered and when I asked if I could detect her property for buttons and stuff, she just said " Sure. Go ahead, have fun."

I was stunned for a second. Then I thanked her and started to detect. It was as simple as that!

Here's a few items I found. I wonder what the middle thing on the top is. It has writing on it and it's made out of lead. Anybody know?

Cheers!

I hope you'll be going back to that place, there's probably more good stuff there!

I think that lead thing is either an old fishing weight or some kind of weight used for a scale.

That lady now needs some fresh baked cookies or maybe a lunch with her new friend. Who knows what other info she might be able to help you with. Great PR for us!!!

Good luck and keep us posted!!!

Very cool stuff. Isn't it GREAT when they say YES, HAVE FUN!?

It could be some type of game piece or maybe a drapery cord weight????

What's inside the locket or watch or whatever the top-right item is??

The locket is empty, but it makes a tight "snap" when you close it. It's really tiny and I found it deep. I was thinking about how The Baron was
recommending you "learn the deep tones".

Learning the deep tones really wore my arm out! I dug at least 30 vintage pull tabs at 12 inches in that yard! ;)

Beautiful! Those kind of folks help to make this a great hobby. You should find some good stuff there, and maybe other places she leads you to. Way to go; nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Ridley,
Congrats on the finds and getting approval to search. I live in Cary also, where is this place? I want to see if it works for me too. ;D

The thing in the middle sure looks a lot like a fishing weight. That'd be mu guess. I wonder what the GS stands for?

Nice everything. The thing in the middle is a fishing weight. I love the Girl Scout pin and all your other finds.

Maybe when you find a really nice coin at this site, you can put it in a folder and take it back to the nice lady who
let you hunt her grounds. PR is great and it opens many doors.

HH and good luck, Ringfinder

Re: The lady said "sure go ahead"

Thanks for the encouragement guys!

ModernMiner,

You can come with me to the house if you like. Let me ask the woman if it's ok first. There is a LOT of trash though.
