I met Eugene Powell while i was sneaking into a plowed field when i was dumb and younger, thinking i was busted the man waved and asked me if i liked arrowheads and when he was younger he did the same, lol. As we talked he started telling me that i need to come by and check out his collection. He was a very nice man that was more than happy for me to bring in several friends at times and even take pictures to show everyone that had no chance to see them. He loved his muesuem he took pride and joy into arranging each piece by size and shape. He loved for people to come by and take a look at it, not scarred to hide it away like most people. He collected for a passion of showing it not just for himself but young begginers like myself. We lost this collector this year, but thanks to him he showed me that its possible even with a old pair of legs to enjoy this awesome hobby we all love and that it will never grow old. Thanks for showing me your collection, heres for all.

Wow, I'm sure that represents thousands of walking hours to amass that many artifacts. Due to his age ground breaking tecniques were kinder to large artifacts back then, then they've become in the last 30 or so years. Hopefully the collection stays together and doesn't get dispersed

Thank you for the great pictures and I'm sorry you lost a friend/collecting mentor.

I'm glad I wasn't the first person to ask about the future of the collection.

I have some paleo site collections I will donate to a university research collection, but I want most of my collection to be dispersed to people who will enjoy it. If that happens to be my children cool, but if not I'd rather it be divided and enjoyed.

Have seen many lifetime collections sold off by family members not interested in rocks but in money, though as of late, a local pair of elderly brothers donated there's to their Town and the collection is displayed in the Town Hall. Just a shame when a collection is sold off or given to an organization that locks it away in a closet forever.

I was invited to the ground breaking of the Pequot Museum adjacent to the Casino, an old timer had donated much of his collection accumulated 50 years ago, pristine artifacts, masketes etc. The old gent's family had asked if when displayed a small note could be included "found by .....', the response was 'absolutely not, those have always been ours, he only found them for us'. I saw an eighty something man cry that day!

Trevmma hasn't logged on to Tnet since 2021. These were prolly uploaded to his personal Photobucket account. So unless you know what his PB account is, you won't be able to do anything with the picture(s) except view them here...
