Had two more medieval hammered coins this afternoon. The first a nice full flan example probably Edward I long cross penny, 1279- 1307. The second an earlier short cross example. This issue covered the kings Henry II, 1180-89, Richard I, 1189-99, John 1199-1216, and Henry III, 1216 -72. Confusingly all these have the same legend of Henricus. Will be interesting to see how this coin cleans up. Robert.
