I was in dire need of a walk in the past today. Been sitting out a couple of rainy days.
So, I decided on a walk around the mansion. This place is simply phenomenal!
Just being there recharges my personal batteries. I love this place!

Anyway, a slow 3.5 hour walk did uncover a couple of interesting things. But, really, that's not
why I go there these days. :)

Only my second thimble, ever! :)

The fronts:

The backs:

Anyone with decent eyes who can see anything recognizable, I'd appreciate any info. :dontknow:

Ya know, I can't recall ever finding a buckle with leather still attached! LOL

2015 (645).jpg
Cute lil bullet still buried in wood. :)

The penny is a '61 zincoln. Finding ANY coins there is rare anymore. :)

Poor Blingie! He hates my 30 day pass! LOL

Thanks for peeking!

My top 4 list includes an old flat button with shank attached and slightly off center ( I believe I showed it to you when you were here last ). I am sure many would say I am easily thrilled but when I hold that button, I can lose myself in thought imagining the lives it touched and wish I could experience it firsthand. I have never found more than one flat button at a site ( in a single hunt ), so I believe that is just about my favorite mansion post in my memory!

Nice to see that you got back out to the mansion. Sometimes you just need to change it up once in awhile. Looks like you pulled a few old ones. Buttons aren't my forte, sorry I can't do more than admire them.

Yep, you did show that to me. It truly is a fascinating button. Although I am a coinshooter at heart, I do have a soft spot for any old buttons that have some info on them. Plain ones, a lil tougher to like. :) I think I can see some designs on these, but my eyes aren't that good.

Yeah, the mansion was very kind to me this trip. I REALLY needed that one! :)

Thanks!

Buttons are always a great find! I love the wreath design around the raised edge flat button. Great digs!

Nice little hunt. As much as I enjoy finding coins, I really love the stuff with history, the more pesonal the better. I think most of us have a special spot that we can get away to and it's not whether we find anything or not that matters.

Welp, I tried. Afraid I just couldn't improve any of the buttons. Only one shows any detail.

I dunno if those are supposed to be stars, they look like plus signs. :dontknow:

The front is pretty clean, just plain.

This bullet embedded in wood is fast becoming a favorite.

Thanks for the replies!

Nice thimble and button find! The bullet in the wood is an interesting recovery.
