I had a little help Locating an empty field where a School once stood, so I walked across the street and asked a few local farmers if they knew the exact location where it once stood, I didnt know who owned the property but the people who told me about the school do,

Seems one farmer already knew my name, :thumbsup:The owner walked me out to the field and gave an estimated location of where the structure once stood, he then says, "the more you dig? the less I have to plow! ...then he walked away :tongue3: I spent about 2 hours digging wheats and buttons before I found the green crusted over V nickel, the date is either 1899 or 1904, i have no clue. I've yet to treat it with anything but water and a toothbrush, so if anyone has any ideas on removing this gunk please chime in....The last hour of my hunt was when the kids toy ring and the 1900 V were found.

The Token is from the Excelsior Shoe Co. July 1910, its about the size of a half dollar, I actually thought I had my 9th Large cent for the year when i broke open the clump of dirt and saw this huge green copper disc, oh well, this is cool too. didnt google it yet so maybe ill have something to update later if its at all interesting.

Good finds,,,,,I would try the Worchestershire sauce soak,,,,it should bring out a date,,,,,it's not like it's gonna be worth a fortune,,,,I'd rather be able to read the date than not,,,,give it a try
