just for study i am posting an image of a buffalo scapula shovel (or hoe)
above it is a much more scarce example.... it is a shovel (or hoe, maybe spoon in some cases)
the one on top is made from a section of buffalo skull with a portion of the horn base which would be the handle or hafted end
i thought some of you would like to see these as the top one is fairly hard to run across

I agree Steve, the bison horncore-skull section type of hoe
or shovel is not often seen ...that's a great specimen!

i have only run across 5 or 6 of those in the last 20+ years
and personally only found about three or so
one of them had both sides of the working end highly polished which leads me to believe that particular piece was a spoon
