Mornin all.

Those South , trust that eventually a major storm will hit. Have a response in advance and be reacting in advance enough.
And don't let it be the storm you thought was going to skirt you , but instead lands on you..

Being a broken record here , but seeing what had been destroyed by hurricane Donna (1960?) before being rebuilt on the gulf almost kept me from sleeping near it.
It sure left the impression the ocean was never to be trusted. Or a home on or near it's shore safe from natures worse.

Donna started as a tropical wave off the West coast of Africa. Became tropical storm . Then became a hurricane.
I don't know what her predicted path was. But from the Bahamas she ended up making landfall eventually onto Florida just below Naples (where I visited).
That took some movement to the N.W. after she neared the coast , North after the keys , and then East before hitting below Naples. IF I got it right.....Pretty much a button hook. Not an arc. Which many forecasts like to show. Currents mattered with Donna. But I don't trust them as assurance of travel either.

Jim,

He was quite the set up at Miracle Farms. No chemicals whatsoever organic or otherwise just does lots of interplantings and encourages beneficial insects and birds to take care of his pest problems.

With the free apples from the mother-in law we'll probably end up with 120 to 150 lbs....that makes a lot of apple sauce just for the 2 of us....lol.

ARC,

Looks like a pretty broad swath of area could get wacked....if their projections are right Florida gets spared.

....GMorn everbody, rain on the plains. The thunder boomers were on rock-n-roll last night. It seems they lessen in the days light ,maybe I can’t see all the lightening strikes..
... school is on a 4 day a week schedule so 3 day weekends start tomorrow. It’s a rough schedule, I’m sure somebody has to be trying to have as much fun as me..

Just checked the official temp 89f and 102f if you factor in the humidex.

Laying low until later this afternoon before venturing out in the backyard.

It was 94F feeling like 112F at 4pm today.
At the wrecking yard it felt like it was that or hotter.
Choke got stuck again on the ATV, that makes 3 times, motor seizes as it fills the engine with gas.
Strange thing is that I never use the choke in the hot weather.
So back to the repair shop for a fix once again.
Need to haul water, maybe a hot wire off the trailer plug.
Or use a 300 gallon tote on the tractor, 12volt pump, that might be an option.

The chickens and the turkeys can finish off a large Zucchini in 15 minutes.

Good morning fellas.

I found out something neat. A cousin of mine in 1903 started a dairy company in Lykens Pennsylvania. The Troutman Dairy Company. He had his own embossed and pyroglazed milk bottles. I'd like to get my hands on one of those!
