We’ve learned over the years. We started with a small In ground shelter and now have purdy large above ground that rated very high wind speed. When IDA gets hear we’re hoping it just a tropical storm but you can’t dismiss the tornadoes.

2. There is a danger of life-threatening storm surge inundation
Sunday along the coasts of Louisiana and Mississippi within the
Storm Surge Warning area. Extremely life-threatening inundation of
10 to 15 feet above ground level is possible within the area from
Morgan City, Louisiana, to the Mouth of the Mississippi River.
Interests throughout the warning area should follow any advice given
by local officials.

3. Ida is expected to be an extremely dangerous major hurricane when
it reaches the coast of Louisiana. Hurricane-force winds are
expected Sunday in portions of the Hurricane Warning area along the
Louisiana coast, including metropolitan New Orleans, with
potentially catastrophic wind damage possible where the core of Ida
moves onshore. Actions to protect life and property should be rushed
to completion in the warning area.

4. Ida is likely to produce heavy rainfall later Sunday into Monday
across the central Gulf Coast from southeast Louisiana to coastal
Mississippi resulting in significant flash and riverine flooding
impacts. As Ida moves inland, flooding impacts are possible across
portions of the Lower Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys.

Xaos,

The Brits became big fans of gin and tonic due to their former colonies in India among other places. It was used to fight malaria also.

hahahah...yes! I am more looking at the covid related cures! havent seen malaria for a while!

Found out another interesting factiod from a retired doctor who yacht needed a bouyancy recalc due to some circumstances of adding a disco to a level...
take a gallon of water, 2 limes and 2 lemons...cut small and crush...put in the water at least overnight....all the electrolytes from the fruit make the water about 50% better than gatoraide!

was a buzzy few weeks....lots of calkulations and surveys....for most yachts, the insurance coverage makes you be north or south of certain latitudes as of mid March...so many headed to the Grenadines for the season...(or the Med!)

BTW...he told me that the Invermectin cocktail with an antibiotic, and zinc works wonders, they had a patient down to 50% oxygen, and fully recovered....it just costs 3 cents per day...Australia, India, and most of S America, this is the treatment...AND CURE!

(add to that, in the US, if you go in, they give you high doses of Vit A, D, and zinc...this helps 85% of the people get better...

Well I told the Mrs that I would get a bucket of tomatoes this pm, little over a 4.5 gallon stainless bucket full.
I'm sure I'll see the upper lip curl a tad.:laughing7:
Need rain-they said rain-started then stopped-looks like overnight now.
Stay safe, for those in front of Ida.
Thinking Ida run from her quickly.
