After posting what turned out to be a gas valve in my last post, I started researching old beer barrel taps and came across some photos. I realized I had found one not too long ago and it was in my "whattizit" pile!

Well here it is!

That also looks to be a gas valve.
Sorry, not trying to be a dream-crusher, hopefully someone will correct me.

Neil, You've one NICE spot you have!!! I had one like that from June to Aug.,Sad to say I lost it.Sure did get a lot of 1700's finds though.Keep at it mate,there's untold treasure there!!! God Bless HH Chris

Neil still a gas valve I believe :tongue3: Barrel taps are much larger and the ends where it taps into the keg are either "ribbed" straight or spiraled to hold it in place.

looks like most of what I thought were barrel tap keys are gas valve handles ???
