Good evening everyone. No dream scores this week but I did have a couple of decent half boxes. My search for the last 12 days or so.
1/28/11- Picked up 4 boxes of halves(3 from 1 branch)(Garda)and drove up to my brother's house in New Hampshire.
1/28-1/29-Opened up all 4 boxes at my brother's house
#1-3 Bens(1954-D,1958,1959-D),8-40%ers(no number on box)
#2-1 Walker(1945-D),1-64,2-40%ers, and a 1979 Medio Balboa(no number on box)
#3-2 Walkers(1944,1945),4 Bens(1951,1953-D,1954,1957-D),1-64,and 8-40%ers(no number on box)
#4(Different Bank)(Skunk)(number on box)
( It's been a while since i have seen some good producing boxes. That afternoon, i used a penny arcade at a TD in New Hampshire that looked different from the ones here in Jersey. The tray was round instead of rectangular and some other features were different. It still functioned the same though)
1/30-No activity
1/31- Home again. Returned 4 bags of halves at one branch and went to another branch and picked up a box of nickels and cents(both Brinks)
-Box of cents(16 wheats including a 1929).8 common canadian cents
-Box of nickels(No war or buffalos)
2/1- Picked up a box of cents, nickels, and dimes
-Dimes(Garda) skunk
-Nickels(Brinks)1944-P,1945-S
-Cents(Brinks)14 wheats(all 40s and 50s),11 Canadian(oldest 1956),1 clad dime
2/2- 2 bank stops
#1-Picked up 1 box of halves(garda)2-40%,both 1967
#2-$10 in customer rolled cents(7 common wheats,1 common canadian cent),3 clad halves
2/3 -5 bank stops
#1-Used penny arcade during lunch break
#2- Used penny arcade at another branch after work(1 silver dime in return,1950-S)
#3,#4- Picked up one box of halves each at banks 3 and 4(garda) 1st box was a skunk, 2nd box had 1-40%(1967)in the last roll
#5-Returned 2 bags of halves, bought a box of nickels and cents(both brinks)
Box of cents(31 wheats,all 40s and 50s),7 Canadians(oldest 1951)
Box of nickels(no-date buffalo in 3rd to last roll),1984 Canadian
2/4- Picked up 3 boxes of halves from 1 branch(garda)
( One box had yellow and white rolls, the other 2 had black and white rolls.)
#1 (I spotted a 40% ender with the yellow rolls so i started with that box.Totals were 1 Walker(1947),4 Bens(1950-D,1951,1959,1960-D),2-40%ers(both 68-D), a guitar pick and a beat up 1994-S proof(no # on box)
#2(A good number of the enders were marked with a black slash. I wasn't too optimistic about this box. I counted 271 coins with this mark on them not even counting the other types of marked coin but still managed 2-40%ers(both 1967)
#3(skunk)
2/5-dumped at 2 different banks after work and picked up 1 box of nickels at a 3rd bank( 1944-P,1996 20 cents singapore)
Picked up box of halves(garda)(# on box)(skunk)
Picked up $30 in cents total from 3 more branches(all garda)and 2 wheats from tellers tray(1940,1951) Totals were 13 wheats(one 1918),6 from the 40s,6 from the 50s,16 canadians(oldest 1964),1 2004 bahamas coin
2/6-Dumped some coin at one TD. I heard a customer next to me asking the teller to save any older coins he came across for his son's collection. After the customer left, the teller asked about my searching and mentioned to me that another customer buys a box of coins from that branch every single day and then returns it there. Must be a rookie. Anyway, i returned a bag of halves to another branch and then bought a box of nickels from each of 3 branches(all Brinks). The results:
#1-1945-P,1945-S,1938,1939
#2-1943-P,{2}1939,1990 Canada
#3-1943-S,1976-S proof,2008 five cent Euro
(Most nickels boxes are producing at least 1 war nickel lately and sometimes more)
2/7-Purchased about $350 in mostly handrolled halves(all skunks) and bought $10 in cents(garda)which produced 6 common wheats and a 1943 Canadian cent
-At another bank I bought $100 in mostly machine rolled dimes(garda)(skunk). 2 of the 3 customer rolls were old style wrappers which got the adreneline running but they didn't have any silver in them.
2/8- Dumped at TD, then bought $100 in dimes from another bank(skunk)
(That's all for now. Good luck in your searches. MM2)
