This time, he may be right.

A few years back I volumized the gold and silver that was supposedly on this wreck and found it to be statisticly unlikely that it had foundered with the ship in shallow water and been removed. I think it was something like every person who arrived on the scene of the shipwreck would have had to carry off and hide 40 pounds of silver and gold coins within 2 days.

It has long been assumed that the wreck rolled around and developed cracks or breaks in the hull from which the heavy stuff spilled out onto the ocean floor further out than where the wreck was later observed to be.
