1954 Bennie
1967 40%
and a very shiny Proof Like Butt :laughing9:

Guess I had better start opening now huh..... Or should I wait for the wife to get here and open them
with me. (Just like a kid in a candy shop)......

Ok,
I am going to make this a long drawn out affair. I opened the first ten rolls and this is what I have found so far.

0714001553.jpg

1940 & 43 Walker
1954 Bennie
1964 Kenny

1966 proof
1967 X 3
1968 X 2
1969 X 2

and the real kicker 1970 Proof.... :hello2:

I also got a 2 cent piece QE2 British Caribbean Territories - 1955

Also got a 1977-s Proof, 1994-s Proof and a 1995-s Proof all clad. I am going to keep them and
start a book.

Well, off to open the next 10 rolls and report back. :laughing9:

2nd 10 rolls

42 Walker
52 Bennie
66
68
69 X2

I also found three other coins that appear to have come from a silver mint set. They
are as follows

1776-1976 Bicentenial
1995 S
2008 S

I have attached the picture of the edge of the 1995 S below. They sound like silver when I drop them with a 40%. Are they Silver?

I left the picture large so you can see the side of the coin. All these coins look like this, I have seen hundreds of the same only the CLAD is very noticable... :dontknow:
If they are silver, are they 40%.

Rich, I really need you now..... :notworthy:

If it is a 95S it could be clad or 90% silver. No 40%'s. If it has clad marks on the edge its a clad proof.

There are no clad marks on any of the five that I have found so far. Straight silver sound when you pop it with your thumb. I just can't believe that somebody would dump them into the wild. So they are 90 Percent Silver :HotDiggityDamn:

OK,
Third Roll of 10 finds.

65
66
67 X 3
69 X 3

2002S and 2006S that have the same sound and silver edge (No Clad Showing Whatsoever).

I am tired of taking pictures unless I get some more walkers or bennies.

Ok, unto the next 10 rolls.

Fourth Set of 10 rolls

1997 S Silver again
1998 S Silver again
2000 S Silver again

67 X 2
69

Have to go and make chicken for dinner, the missus is insisting that I wait on opening the last 10 rolls until after dinner.

Congrats, that's quite a nice box you got there. Especially for only your third box ever. It seems that many long time CRH'ers have never had this good a box, so don't expect it to be the norm. This may be the best you get for quite some time.

3 enders = a 30 keeper potential.

Silver proof coins are very rare in the wild. That alone makes this box dreamy and the 95S is the icing on the cake.

Fifth and final 10 rolls.

Walkers 4 42 X2, 43 and 44
Bennie 1961
Kenny 1964
1965
1969

and another Bicenteninal Silver with "S" mint mark. Pictures of all proof Silver Mint coins below. I took the 1970 out of the stack of 40 percenters and placed it in the 90 percent pile as it is just the same looking as the other Silver Proofs and carries the "S" mint mark. Kennedy's only came minted
at 40% from Denver and Philadelphia if memory serves me correctly.

Final tally for the $500 dollar box.

Franklins 3
Walkers 7
Kennedy's (90) 2
Kennedy's (40) 25

Mint Silver Proofs 9 - Various dates all with the "S" mint mark and solid silver color (no Clad). Sounds like silver when flipping them and bouncing them.

Here is the entire collection.

Here is a shot of the Silver Proofs to show the edges.

Sorry to make this a long post but I am extremely happy right now. I really thought I would have another skunk on my hands. Guess the lady at the bank gets roses tomorrow huh. :hello2:

Silver proofs are fairly rare in the wild. I've only found one in the last year and a half. Very nice!

Don't I know it!!!! I am just happy as a clam at high tide. I know they won't all be this way, but the lady at the bank ALWAYS orders two for me and I pick them up a week apart(Have to dump first).

I am hoping that the second box is half of the first....
