I am so excited by this one! My first Kentucky relic, my first Western Theater relic, and my first bayonet scabbard tip, in my front yard!

Have any of you seen one with a flat top like that?

The 54th Virginia, and the 117th Ohio infantry were just a mile down the road. This may have come from one of their pickets!

It came to my attention that the relic is clean when the pic was taken. I did not have my camera with me at the time, so I took the finale into the house, cleaned it a bit, then put it in the hole for a photo op. Just lettin' y'all know, I didn't plant it, lol!

If that was there, there must be more CW relics nearby.

Thanks WD! Ya know...I spent months researching a site, only to find a CW relic in my yard. Go figure. That site is however within walking distance...

Oh and just a heads up, I took it out of the hole, cleaned it up, and then put it back for a picture. It was not found that clean, lol!

RR,

You may want to go back to your original post edit and add this info there. That's one sweet find you should be proud!

R.R. When you're done with your yard there's the neighbors yards. I'm pretty sure they will understand.
That's a sweet find so keep on digging your neighbors lawns you might have to do at night.

TM.
