Here's a few that standout in my mind. What did you learn in 2012?

They can legally go topless at NSB.
Mayan's can't be trusted.
Pulltabs do spawn and multiply.
A Starfish race seems like a neat idea but it's just not practical.
Getting in a wetsuit is a lot easier then getting out.
My detector is not solar powered.
Make sure those drawstrings are tight before diving into waves.
Walking the beach on a busy day is like taking a trip through the twilight zone.
No matter how many you dig those deep beer cans are never full. :BangHead:

The Mayans never said it was the end of time, they thought it would be a new beginning...we made up the end of world theory.

When did they start allowing topless at NSB...with all things getting worse, finally something got better...I think I will try some detecting at NSB. :laughing7:

I learned a few things too:

. 45 degrees at home is a whole lot warmer than 45 degrees at the beach.
. Small waves can knock you down when you're focused on a target.
. The sand in shallow water is always soft when you're not wearing boots.

Life is for learning!

Merry Christmas

The size of a small piece of gold is always 1mm less then the size of the smallest hole in my scoop.
No matter how early I get to Clearwater beach it is always too late.
Somebody will always ask me a question when I get a good sound on my detector.

Especially when you are fighting the returning tides, in a hurry for that one last good tone before you get washed out. Happens every time! :BangHead: :laughing7:

The only thing I will argue with is the beer can thing. I saw a guy the other day find an entire case of beer. It was amazing to me that he found anything as i watched him go by me swinging his coil about 10 inches off the sand. I thought to myself, nice detector....but he sure has no idea what hes doing. But then again, an entire case of beer should be pretty easy to find.

The main lesson learned......he was hunting a section of the beach that nobody else hunts and he got a cold case of beer out of it. :occasion14:

I'll bet those kids were ticked when they showed up for the after dark party and their hidden beer was gone. :laughing7:

I learned that a picture taken with your GPS enabled phone actually has your GPS location embedded in it!

This one hurts..... don't go out in the dark assuming your detector is properly set up.... I originally thought it was an extremely clean beach only to find out 3 hours later I hadn't turned up my volume, I had turned up my NOTCH control on the GT..... sucks to be me sometimes.....LOL
