Hey guys I went to a field where a Navel Base was in 1940-1957. I found my first intact military button!! I was full of crud so I put it in my tumbler and came out pretty good. I still can make out the wording on the back any suggestions? Vinegar/salt/foil or lemon juice or just leave it? Either way I’m happy.

Also got a 1944 S War nickel and a beautiful 1942 D Liberty Dime. Also a religious pendent, a toy jet fighter plane and a beautiful 1914 wheatie. Good spot Good day [emoji1317] IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG

Nice bunch of finds truth. The button is US Army jacket button, WWII or newer. If you can toothpick off the crud and get a maker you may narrow it down.

Nice bunch of finds Truth, I'm betting there's more silver there and as you're thinking gold rings also. GIs tend to party hardy. Love the jet also.

Nice finds. I would try lemon juice and a small fine brass brush to bring out some more detail on the back of your button.

The have like 10 oak trees where they use to bring their girls when visiting and the rest is just flat short grass of about 300 acres.

Nice hunt Truth! Nice mix of finds. So you going to grid all 300 acres?:laughing7:

What is your mid-tone (Gold ring) range?

Digger they say you can hit gold rings 1-4, 8,9 man I almost killed my self chasing that. I basically find my gold rings if I get lucky and I can live with that. I’ve found 2 gold ring so far with the 800 which is a miracle within itself. A smaller ladies 14k gold ring smacked at 8” perfect 12 nickel signal and to my surprise gold. Second was a mans 14k wedding band with date from 1943 (both where from the 40’s) that hit a solid 20 8”. Now every time I’m passings penny signal I’m always wondering. Ugggh

Large men’s ring IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0012.JPG

And as far as griding no! Lol I can’t grid a small spot,my mind doesn’t work that way in a structured setting, I’m a go with the gut kind of guy, translation I’m all over the place.

World War I era Great Seal military uniform button is in nice condition.

It was made by D. Evans & Co., Attleboro Falls, Massachusetts.
