Hi all, I went to East Fork on Labor Day weekend and once again struck out on finding gold, but I did find an odd bit of metal that I think may be platinum. It has a deep silver luster, does react to a magnet although I heard platinum doesn't unless it is very powerful, and is much shinier than lead. It is also very heavy, and I found it under the black sands in my pan; it doesn't move in water, unless very vigorously shaken. I also found a curious concretion of minerals in a small rock that appears to contain copper and a gray lustrous metal.
The picture really doesn't capture the copper crystals that protrude slightly from the surface.
I'm posting the pics, let me know what you think. Thanks.
