I’ve been traveling a lot for business recently so not much detecting lately. Made it out this weekend for a couple hours and didn’t find much.

Then went back to the Colonial site in the park at lunch today. Nothing to show but shotgun headstamps, then a weak 20-21 when swinging over a smaller downed tree. Moved the tree and the signal cleaned up and was a solid 20 almost too loud. Was thinking partial can top, but about 4 inches down.

In the woods I can see the parts of the copy around the edge from a GWI and part of the Eagle Shield. She’s the roughest one, but still a thrill to dig.

This makes 3.5 GWI’s from this site, the .5 went to SteveInPa

Heading down to the Charleston SC 4th of July week, Kiawah Island. I plan on doing some beach detecting at night, but if anyone has a relic site around Charleston and they are up for a partner, send me a PM and I will repay you with some Colonial sites in Pittsburgh... I’ve never dug a CW bullet, on my bucket list....

Man I should have moved that tree when I was there :laughing7:
I can put you on civil war bullets 3.5 hours from Pittsburgh.
Congrats on #3.5. That accounts for all 4 that would have been on the card unless the guy bought multiple cards and made a coat of those buttons :dontknow:

Thx Steve! The other half of your button is definitely there. I hope the other half is as good as the piece you have when it pops out.

Thx Xcopperstax! Finding the first one felt unreal, like pinch me I must be dreaming unreal. Now finding 2.5 more I’m thinking this is like beach or playground hunting and the area is reseeding, fresh drops... Actually I am interested in selling 2 and keeping one for myself. I’ve never sold anything before, but I’ve never found anything that could be potentially as valuable as these buttons. Sort of if you found one gold coin, you would most likely keep it (I still have the only gold coin i’ve found)but if you found a spill or hoard of gold coins.... Just trying to figure out the best way to get the most for the buttons.

Final quick hunt at the nearby colonial site. I think I have covered everything now. Might go back if I get a sniper coil. The big dandy had me thinking GWI #4... off to the beach!!
