Hey Paul, thanks and welcome. I buy my stuff at the nearest shop. There are some great online deals however. But I just like knowing the couple bucks overhead I put into whatever I'm getting is going back to the local economy as well.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY.

Im still kind of stuck on the tesoro line and really would like to find more Dealers and other makes in the ME.& NH. area. I have a Kellyco catalog and have heard good reports of them, also am starting to get catalogs from other online dealers.I Feel that a local dealer and the info that he has of my area would out way the saving from buying online but I am a newbie so all info you all send is of great interest to me. Not only a Newbie at MD but also this PC STUFF SO PLEASE BE patient I ONLY HAVE ONE FINGER THAT WORKS..HE.HE. Again Thanks a heap.

paul,
You could get a bargain from the on-line dealers, but a local dealer will give you better and friendlier service and also help you learn your detector and also help if you have problems starting out, might even take you to one of his places to show how to work the detector, etc. The on-line dealers usually can give bigger discounts due to not having to rent a building and have the overhead costs a local dealer has. Places like Kelly-co have a large inventory and can buy in volume and also get bigger discounts on accessories and add those into a deal to give more appeal to a deal. My local dealer is a very nice guy, and he treats me very well on buying a detector. Matter of fact, I have bought 17 detectors from him. Now I don't have them all now, I bought them for my sons and daughter, and a few other friends to help them get started in this hobby. I agree with you hat your local dealer could help you in many ways, but if you buy your detector from a on-line or catalog dealer, you will have to ship it in to them or the factory warranty repair shop for even the smallest of adjustments or repairs, where many times the local dealer can make small repairs or order the parts and fix it for you without voiding the warranty. Thanks for the answer to my post and good luck on whatever you choose. HH Scotty

Thanks Scotty I agree with you on buying locally and Lowbatt has the same feeling. Great feedback from you guys its bin really helpful.Got a catalog from White today and a post card from a dealer in NH.also,so much for privies. Sounds like you have a few years under your belt md-ing,I like that because you older fellows tell it like it is. Looks like I will have planty of time to decide what to buy we got 8" of snow a couple days ago and its snowing now 2 to 4 more inches there saying.Have spent many hours on this PC thing trying to learn it, getting there slowly,I hope MD-ING IS EASIER. Hoping to find someone around here that is into this hobby. Thanks for the info Paul
