This is Actually Yesterday's Finds but what the heck....

So I hit an old park and dug up tons of clad; about 44 coins (after trashing all of the nasty zinc pennies) but no silver or anything really old to speak of.

Ironically, I did manage to find two Wheaties, a 1942 and a 1944 but they were both from a 3 year old tot lot in the park.
Go figure.

I found two keys, one monogrammed key chain and a very large and old lock washer. I also found a plastic kid's ring but I'm not counting it.

I do have a good feeling about this spot. It's a very old park that I haven't even begun to really hunt. I was sidetracked by 4 kids from the same family ranging in age from 5-12. They had a million questions and I let the 12 year old boy and the 8 year old girl give the detector a try. The little girl found a 1967 dime and the boy found a 1966 quarter. Those dates lead me to believe that there just may be some silver to be had when I go back.

That's pretty much it. Today after work we try again.

Thanks. We shall see.

I had totally forgotten about this place. An old girlfriend from my teenage years used to live near this park. She and I used to take many late night walks to this place and spend time together there. Hunting there brought back some very fine memories.

don't give up on the spot, hammer it hard and slow and the dirt will give up something sweet

That's the plan and I don't have any intention of giving up.
I haven't found any silver since my awesome day at the beach a couple weeks ago.

I can just feel it comin' though. It's just a matter of time.
