Re: This Is why, "we do what we do!"

I'm sorry! Not my kids. Children of the Adults who are working so hard for us today to get the grounds redy for camp. Which starts in June and goes through August. We have anywhere from 100-150 children weekly durring this time. Staff is hired from all over the world. this year we have a returning staff from England, New Zealand, Austrailia,Russia, And Scotland. We also hire local staff. We have Metal Detectors Donated by Tesoro and Minelab that I use to tech kids the hobby. I will have a treasure pit they can find miscellanious 4-h trinkets and tokens that they can use to purchase toys with from the "Cantina" Thanks for looking

Re: This Is why, "we do what we do!"

I just made a recommendation that this post go in "Honorable Mention." It is great publicity for our hobby, and it would be good for the public to see this post.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for the kids.

Best Wishes,

Buckles

I'm tickled to see you got moved to the Honorable Mention Forum, 4-H. I like the diversity of your staff. It seems funny to me that when you get around folks from different countries, ethnicities, and cultures, they really ain't that much different. I hope y'all have a good safe season.

I missed the thread until I saw the reward under your name. I remember when you first joined TN and blew us away with all your interesting finds. Im glad you decided to keep these treasure items and share it with the kids. Good work. :icon_thumright:

Would like to see some more pics.

This is fantastic Mike. You and Maggie do a wonderful thing hosting this camp for the children. I only wish there had been something like this when I was young. Keep up the excellent work. Looking forward to seeing more pictures on here and on our forums.

Another job well done 4-H. That is the best way for someone to learn..........hands on. You couldn't have done a better job initiating that kind of learning environment for youngsters :notworthy:
