This looks fun !

Searched a box of nickels (Customer Wrapped) and a box of Halves (Machine Wrapped) recently.

The box of nickels had the following :

Ones to hold on to :

'40 P (x2) , '40 D , '46 D , '51 , '54 P , '54 D (x2) , '56 D , '57 , '58 D (x2) , '59 D (x2)

Some S mint marks :

'70 S (x7)

Some Silver :

'43 P



The box of halves had the following :

Ones to hold on to :

'82 P

Some Silver :

A '68 D ender.

'66 , '68 D (x4) , '69 D

Those are some pretty good numbers for half boxes in this area. Nice finds!
 

Question. What is the reason you kept the 1982p half?
 

Lower mintage for that year.

Just remember, value will only cross over to better condition. I find them all of the time.
 

Regarding the 1982p :

Oh yes.

I keep the better conditioned ones and redeposit the others.
 

Took me almost a year to see the 42-S you found.... man...That is a beauty!!! You never see war nickels in that good of shape!
