I would say with out a scale on hand that it weighs over a 1/4 lb, is 2.4"x1.4" and is smooth on the backside and rough on the front....lol. I am mostly curious about what the process going on or was going on with it is and what it is.

We'd call that "etched" quartz where I live. Often goes in hand with faults (geology).
