This is a rock a friend of a friend found in Iowa. I get pictures like this a lot because I know a bit about artifacts and often can help. This one has me stumped a bit. There are clearly plow marks on it. And the holes could easily be natural. But the cross figure on one side doesn’t look like plow marks to me. No report of other artifacts found with it. Any thoughts are appreciated.

You are right about the holes, they are natural. take some chalk and run it on the lines to see if you can get a better idea of what the lines represent. Could be nothing, could be something, worth the try.

The line are most likely plow scars and the holes on the side with two are naturally formed. The divot on the side with the plow scars could be pecked in though. Can you show a better picture of that area.
