This week's letter speaks to the cost the miners had to endure while not being able to work their mining claims. As I stated earlier the squeaky wheel gets greased and I will squeak weekly. Your continued support is appreciated.

Donald J. Trump, President of the United States
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

Dear President Trump,

The West Coast independent gold miners and prospectors have been reaching out to you for assistance to get us back to work in the face of the environmental movements massive push to over regulate us out of existence. This has placed undo economic hardship upon the miners.

For years many of us have had to do the required work to maintain our claims, pay county and federal fees, file our annual paperwork and pay our property taxes all with out being able to use our claims as congress intended. This is like paying for a car you can’t drive; you have to make the payments, keep up the insurance and keep it registered it every year with the DMV but you are not allowed to drive your car.

The mining law and the courts have made clear that the intent of congress was to make it possible for the miners to be able to stake claims and have a process that would be commercially viable. The extraordinary pressure that has been brought to bear these last 8 years upon the West Coast independent gold miners and prospectors has made this nearly impossible, and in some of the states, totally impossible.

We have spent a significant amount of money, all while having to pay to maintain our claims and not be able to make money from them, to try fight this. The astonishing pressure that has been brought forth by the environmental ideology has not only been intense but continues to expand still https://www.biologicaldiversity.org/news/press_releases/2017/suction-dredge-mining-01-10-2017.php

We are hard working Americans who once augmented our incomes, fixed income retirees who need to supplement our needs through other than hand outs and fulltime miners who are just trying to scratch out an existence in the rural American West were economic opportunities can be scarce. We are simply asking for reasonable regulations on federal managed public lands.

We look forward to working with you to Make America Great Again and get the miners back to work!
