This week’s relics & more Nazi pennies

Made it out for a few short hunts this week.

This was ID’d as a USMC chin strap screw nut.

This one small spot in the woods is just loaded with 1940-1944 Nazi pennies. After my 3rd trip to this spot finally got tired of digging these 15 VDI signals. If they weren’t so crusty it would be more worth while.

And spoons...

Good luck out there!

Those are some really cool finds those Nazi pennies let me know if you ever want to get rid of some of those. They look really cool and would be great for any collection. Tommy

Are all Pfennigs 1941? Could be some rare ones among them, late in the war all of the copper and bronze coins were melted to make weapons and they were cut in aluminum from a point on...

A couple were 1940, most are 1941 and 1942, one is 1944 which I thought was unusual as the war was nearing its end. I think these pfennigs are a combination of copper and zinc. They are corroded very much like modern US pennies. I found a 50 pfennig aluminum coin there my first hunt and was hoping for some more variety, but just loads of pfennigs.
