Dug this old Yale & Towne lock today. I figured, just another old lock. Although I am no lock expert, This lock has a place for the key to be inserted, but it there is no tumbler to turn it. The brass casing would prohibit the key to turn. What do I have here :icon_scratch: and its age. Thanks folks.

The key would have a cut on both sides to allow the key to turn. The bottom of the lock would pass through the gap of cuts. There would be a couple of more cuts in the key for the stops on the inside of the lock also. I don't have a way to post a picture of one so I hope I explained it well enough.
Good luck and happy digging.
