Thompkins and Courtland County NY - Southern Tier NY

Hey, saw a post that was over 10 yrs old and trying to find something more recent?
a) legality in Southern Tier NYS Parks. - I see Permit applications for Central NY, NYC, Long Island, but nothing on Southern Tier (western NY finger lakes area).
b) anyone in this area that detects... would love to meet up or find out what is OK to detect.
*currently here from FL and missing my beach hunting.
