I was doing some recon of a new area a couple weeks back and saw some fields that looked like they had potential. After knocking on a few doors I finally found out who was farming them and where he lived but couldn't ever catch him at home. Then the other day I was waiting on a guy at work and when I asked him his name for the Ace Rewards Card he turned out to be the guy I was looking for. He was a regular customer so when I asked he said no problem, that I could hunt it anytime I wanted and his dads farm too.

I went there Thursday and this field is huge, so having never been in it I just kind of stood back and looked and decided which areas looked the best and that's where I headed. The first spot started producing Flint almost immediately and I found two Triangle Points and a small Knife, plus a few brokes there including the Jacks Reef.

Then I was walking to the next spot and as I'm crossing a ditch line I looked down and saw a great looking knife laying almost in the water. When I got to the next spot it too was loaded with Flint but I only found one Birdpoint and some more brokes. I then decided to head out since it was getting colder and starting to snow. I crossed the last big ridge in the field and the Flint was just thick. I found three tips, a base, and then I got a two'fer. A Hafted Scraper and a small Stemmed Point about 6 feet apart.

I got some nice insitus and some video of some of the finds, but I forgot to get an in situ of the knife and just have video of it.

Here's the video, some in situs, and the clean up pics

Thanks everyone. I am really excited about this new spot. He had plowed about half of it and there were two more high ridges he hadn't touched yet. I also have several more fields he farms that I need to check out that look like they will be really good too.

Rock, I believe you are right. Everything I found looks to be Woodland except for maybe the Knife. It may be Archaic.

Helluva good day id say...Ive only found one field in ten years that had potential and that one had a nesting eagle so it was basically off limits. Not much agriculture in maine.

Yes and the knife might be older, I noticed the long strikes on it. Archaic and a little older will have the long strikes removed and then a little scattered flakes removed might be trans paleo from what I see. Id be back in that area you found it and look some more.

It looks like you have found a spot with a lot of future potential. Nice finds already so we will be looking forward to more of your pics.
