I have a Tiger Shark and two coils for it and the other day I happend to meet someone who was selling a uMax Clean Sweep. I had read a long time ago that you could get an adapter cable to attach it to the Tiger Shark, so I purchased it. When I got home, I went online and placed an order for the adapter cable and later received an email that they had been discontinued and were out of stock. I tried placing another online order with another company and received the same message. At this point, I am kinda bummed out...

I was hoping that someone who has the adapter cable and a continuity meter can test the cable and tell me what pins need conntected to what pins to make my own adapter cable since I can't get one to connect the coil to the detector. The pins have numbers next to them, so I think that this should be a pretty simple and straight forward thing to do over a text message without wiring it up backwards.

Thanks in advance
John

The adapter cord has the unavailable waterproof coil connector on one end, so Tesoro can't make them just like they can't make the interchangable coils for their water detectors for now. I always thought I might be able to find a broken tiger shark coil with the waterproof connector on it and wire the cable up to a 10 x 12 umax coil and put it on my tiger shark, but I have never found one yet. Good luck finding the adapter coil. HH Niffler

I don't need it to be water proof.

I want to use it on the sandy beach with my daughter. I tried emailing them and they told me that they discontinued them due to issues and can't send me the pin pattern :(

Hopefully someone out there has one to tell which pins go to which pins - I can get the plugs in a non-waterproof version.

Thanks for the info! I had not run across this site and it looks like they are a great resource to find the wiring diagram of the cable.

As far as I know , the Clean sweep coils do not work/not designed for the Tiger shark. Simply attatching the apropriate plug will not make it work correctly. Might be an idea to get your money back.
I may be wrong and if so then I stand corrected.

While the Clean Sweep Coil isn't made for the Tiger Shark anymore sadly, it is for the other detectors in the line up like the Silver Umax. http://www.losttreasure.com/content/archives/silver-umax-and-cleansweep-search-coil :read2:
You should get another Tesoro like the Silver Umax for those beach hunts since you aren't goint to use it in the water.

Like a FOOLI sold my Clean Sweep coil that I used on the my Tiger Shark and now wish I had it back. It covered a lot of dry sand area at a time and was simple to pinpoint with just off the tip or heel. The heel didn't work as well because you could have another coin in front of the thing you were trying to pinpoint.

They don't sell it as a compatible coil, because the plug is different and their adapter cable was never underwater safe. When they did make the cable, they had told me that it would fit and told me that there were two modles and to make sur I didn't get the PI version and it would work well on it with the adapter. Unfortunatelly I waited several years to act on getting the coil. I'll have to decide whether I want to return or sell the coil or get a used umax detector to use with it I guess. Thanks.

That is handy info.
I never knew that there was a Clean Sweep for the Tiger.
I stand corrected, Thanks.
