Quick 2 hour hunt in the rain this morning and I found 3 things I'm very happy with, a very large bullet, a tiny militia button (at least according to what it said on the internet), and a copper that's so toasted that i just put it in olive oil in the hopes some detail will miraculously appear, lol. Any info anyone might have on the beautiful button or bullet would be much appreciated. I'm trying to get out as much as possible before everything freezes up. The bullet doesn't have any rifling marks on it so I think it's old. It's 1 and 1/8 inches long and weighs 25 grams and has a diameter of about .480 inch. Oh, I almost forgot, the button is 14 mm in diameter. IMG_20151021_125607.jpg IMG_20151021_130159.jpg IMG_20151021_125814_kindlephoto-18374659.jpg IMG_20151021_125846_kindlephoto-18467584.jpg

Great finds Rustic, congratulations. Your bullet looks like .45-70 bullets that I have dug before. Nice button! Sub 8-)

You pulled some nice targets in those 3 hours. You have me curious about the coin you are soaking. Let us know what it is if you can pull some detail from it.

I sure will, Loco. I hope that copper shows up some details, I'd love to be able to identify it.

nice button. dropped 3 ringer, now find some fired rounds. I have a cup full from a hunt at a militia training range both dropped & fired, plus a load of .69 roundballs & 2 .69 towers.
