Native Americans often utilized bone as much as possible but also used stone when carving. The bottom row shows points that have tips that were designed for intricate carving in soft wood. Primarily, these were used for carving paddles for paddle stamped ceramic wares found in the Swift Creek and Weeden Island cultures.
